PRACTICAL GUIDE

What to know before you watermark pdf

A text watermark places a visible label such as DRAFT or INTERNAL on every page. It is a visual signal, not DRM, and it does not prevent someone with suitable software from editing the document.

Draft copies

Mark a document awaiting approval so it is less likely to be mistaken for a final release.

Internal classification

Place INTERNAL or SAMPLE on a copy shared within a team.

Demonstration material

Label a sample used for presentations or training.

HOW THE PDF CHANGES

Technical limits to understand

Supported characters

The current engine uses a basic Latin PDF font. Accented Unicode text requires a properly licensed embedded font and is not supported yet.

Fixed placement

Text is placed diagonally near the center at a fixed size. Very small or dense pages need manual review.

Not copy protection

The watermark is drawn into a new PDF but does not encrypt the file, disable printing or control access.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the result is not what you expected

Why is accented text rejected?

The standard font does not contain all Unicode glyphs. Use basic Latin characters in this release.

Can a watermark be removed?

It may be removed with specialist PDF editing software. A watermark is a visual notice, not absolute protection.
