Add a signature image to a PDF and check the downloaded file
Open Sign PDF, select your PDF and a PNG/JPG image or draw a sample, then set the page, position and size before processing. Download and reopen the result for inspection. A visible signature image is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not provide the same identity-verification mechanism.
A signature image and a digital signature do different jobs
An image is visible content placed on a page. Its presence does not mean a reader can verify the signer or detect changes using a certificate. Adobe describes digital signatures as using a verified identity and certificate information; embedding an image is a different workflow.
Check which signature type the recipient requires before starting. If certificate validation is required, do not substitute an image. This guide covers placement and output checks, not a conclusion about the document's legal validity.
Prepare a practice copy
Use a sample PDF without personal data and draw a mock mark first. For image input, choose PNG or JPG. A transparent PNG can avoid a rectangular background hiding nearby text; a JPG retains its background when placed on the page.
Finish merging, reordering and layout changes before placing the mark. Fill and verify AcroForm fields first if needed. If compression is necessary, understand that raster compression turns pages into images and can remove form fields, text layers or digital-signature validity.
Place the image or drawing on the correct page
Open Sign PDF, select the PDF copy and add an image or draw a sample. Choose the page by its position in the file, which may differ from its printed number. Adjust placement and size with the preview or numeric inputs, checking the area around the signature before processing.
- Keep the signature readable; enlarging a small image can blur it.
- Avoid covering names, dates, amounts and neighboring fields.
- Correct the image or placement before generating a result if it is wrong.
- Download a new file and retain the original.
Inspect the download
Open the downloaded PDF rather than relying only on the website preview. Check the page, position and complete strokes at a normal reading zoom. Look for an image background covering text or a mark clipped at the page edge. If printing matters, test a sample page.
If placement is wrong, return to the source or clean filled copy to try again instead of stacking marks onto a failed result. VietPDF does not issue certificates or validate existing digital signatures; use a reader with verification features when that is required.
- Is the mark on the intended page in the file?
- Are surrounding text, dates and fields still legible?
- Are the background and image size suitable?
- Does the recipient accept this signature type and format?
Move a result between tools
VietPDF can pass a result copy between Fill PDF, Sign PDF and PDF Workflow in memory within the same tab. This is not account storage or cross-device synchronization. Download anything you need to keep before closing or reloading the page.
PDF processing runs on your device without uploading the document to a processing server. Even so, use a mock signature for practice when a real signature is unnecessary. Keep certificate-signed originals separately: an image resembling a signature is no substitute for certificate validation.
